A real hectic week has just passed, but i shouldn't take this time to chill out too much since i seriously should complete my stuff as per dateline.
Last week was the spammage of hw+quizzes+tests week with a few tday rehearsals (those in hall as well as the night practices). Somehow along the way i caught a flu which developed into a cough and yadayada. And knowing me i don't really take very good care of myself hahaha. So that explains why i've not fully recovered as yet, but at least the running nose/blocked nose is gone and i've found my voice!:) Thankyou jah for the medicine! Sorry i almost depleted your supply! Do you prefer upfront payment or replacement of goods? LOL. :/
Then there was sc selection camp from friday cca time till sunday noon, of which i slept 4hrs on the first night and 2hrs on the second. But the time was well spent, and it also opened my eyes to how vigourous the selection process has to be and how the same candidate can be viewed very differently by 2 different evaluators. All in all i believe most candidates did show potential (to various degrees) but as to whether that makes them deserve to get into council, or to rephrase it, whether council is suitable for them or whether they are better as house captains etc, i can't say for sure. It's really tough to make decisions concerning those on grey areas. What makes one deserve it more than the other when they excel in different areas and show weakness in separate areas too? I guess the discussion subsequently evolved into who can change if he/she joins council. And honestly, if we had to go through such a selection process, how many of us would have passed out of 5? I really don't know, since the facilitators then might have differed from us. I just hope that whoever is chosen, they will change the school through council, and that many years later, we'll be proud alumni of nus high and the council.
On the same night directly after camp was the closing ceremony of SYDC of which dance was the opening perf. Saw minh chau, zhixin, and chris! My gosh the people there seem so wild and crazy unlike what you would have assumed from observing their debates :O It was pretty shocking initially when people just ran up on stage during song choice with the disco lights etc :O Sorry, i'm a super shy person who doesn't really like the limelight in such cases heh :/ Only went up cause i made a bet with chris and zhixin that i'll go up and dance if they do and they really did! D: Then only when i got back to hostel that i suddenly realised sports day was on monday and TDay was on tuesday and not the reverse way around, which meant that my house tee would still be in the laundry! Imagine how panicky i got cause it would be dumb to get dqed for not wearing your house tee (esp for 2 events), non? So i started calling up people, before i found out that you could loan the laundry key from the hostel office! Like, since when?! Was so elated that i flew up the hostel stairs and nearly tripped when a huge fat black bettle suddenly came into view! Super scary can! Tricia shares my sentiments hahaha! Then dosed myself with medicine and went to bed earlier, around 11sth cause i didn't want to die the next day.
Okay so i survived sports day, many thanks to weining for helping me to the restroom when i nearly died after my first event; xinyuan for staying with me throughout the whole thing when i merlioned out my breakfast; hanisah for borrowing wendelyn's waterbottle, and wendelyn for kindly lending me your waterbottle(: On a sidenote, ohmygosh mag yay(: I don't think you'll see this but if you do, i hope you have recovered too (and found your voice)! :D and i recognised alot of sc selection camp participants that day and ohboy they sure run damn fast! Especially yufong and dominic :O
Aaand finally today was TDay celebrations! The end of my hectic week (i think.) Thanks Janice Soo for buying the chrysanthemum drink! Really appreciate your thoughtfulness(:
Okay time to get to work, i shouldn't sleep early today since i have stuff to do.
